It’s not about what you know, but about how little the reader knows. What if the embedded font is flagged and doesn’t make it through their antivirus or something (that actually happens).

Or, you can show you know what the hell you’re doing with tech and embed your chosen fonts in the document (which can be done in both Word and pdf).
