Cravath Announces Its New Partnership Class -- And That Means A Bonus Announcement Is Next!
The members of the elite firm's latest partnership class are heavily focused on corporate work.
On Wednesday, Cravath announced some major news — but no, it wasn’t the firm’s 2024 year-end bonus scale. Instead, the elite firm announced that it promoted seven attorneys to its partnership ranks.
This year’s Cravath partner class is larger than that of 2023, by nearly double, and is quite corporate heavy. The American Lawyer has the details:
Six of the seven attorneys elevated to partner are in Cravath’s corporate practice, including Isaac Beerman, Alexander Greenberg, Jackson Lam, Edward Minturn, Margaret Rallings and Sarah Rosen. The firm promoted Jana Hymowitz in its executive compensation and benefits department. The promotions will take effect Jan. 1 of next year.
Cravath was one of the first longtime holdouts to cut bait and create a “salaried partner tier” (i.e., nonequity partners) back in November 2023, and the question remains whether these attorneys were elevated to the firm’s equity partnership.
This is very exciting news, not just for the seven associates who will soon become partners at Cravath, but for all Biglaw associates. This partnership announcement means that the powers that be at the firm have already gathered to make one important decision, and there’s just one more important decision left to be made: 2024’s bonuses. We hope the good news is coming soon, because all eyes are now on Cravath.
Congratulations to Cravath’s new partners!
